Child Crisis Center of El Paso is listed in Bridal Quince and El Paso Family guides.
The Child Crisis Center of El Paso was founded by George and Mary Russell in 1979 is response to abuse their 2-year-old grandson had received to provide emergency shelter relief to children 0 to 13 years of age. The mission of the center is to protect children from abuse and neglect by providing shelter, advocacy and family support services.
Along with its shelter activities, the Child Crisis Center provides child abuse and neglect prevention through parenting programs with the Fatherhood EFFECT Program, El Paso HOPES and the Military Families Veterans Prevention Program (MFVPP). In addition to the parenting resources, they have a program called Teen Talk, which is a comprehensive sex education program that delivers curriculum to area youth which is meant to discourage underage pregnancies.
