Paso del Norte Children's Development Center mission is to help children with disabilities reach their fullest potential by providing comprehensive therapeutic, educational and childcare services. There three primary division of the PDNCDC, 1.) El Papalote, 2.) Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and 3.) the Community Resource Center (CRC).
El Papalote is an all inclusive childcare center and provides child care services specifically designed to help children with disabilities. Services include traditional childcare, after school care, full day programs for school age children when school is not in session, respite care, and socializations opportunities. In partnership with EPISD, El Papalote provided Pre-K programs for 3 and 4 year old children with special needs.
ECI and CRC provide a variety of services for eligible children with special needs. ECI serves children newborn through three years of age with Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapies, Case Management Services, and Counceling Services among many other service opportunities. The CRC is where clinical programs for older children and youth are provided such as ABA which focuses on therapeutic strategies for children with Autism Disorder, and Outpatient Rehabilitation Program that provides Physical, Occupational and Speech therapies for children 4 and older. Family Education and social work program fall are included in this division as well.
