Sensory Integration
The neurological process in which a person organizes sensory-related information from one’s own body as well as the environment, in order to effectively participate in activities of daily living. The effectiveness of this process is influenced by how well the brain processes multiple sensory inputs into functional and usable outputs.

We have been coming to Valeo Rehab for almost a year now and the improvements in my child’s speech & vocabulary has been incredible. His speech therapist, James Nichols, is absolutely amazing and his professionalism, education and talents has helped my child tremendously. My 3 year old went from incorrectly pronouncing single words to formulating and speaking coherent full sentences! As a mother and a licensed professional counselor (LPC) my child’s safety and happiness is just as important as reaching specific goals. What I love about James Nichols and the whole team at Valeo Rehab is how incredibly approachable, kind and supportive they are to all the kids and parents. The establishment is also extremely well kept and clean, and I like the extra added security for parents who wish to sit in the waiting area and watch their child through the security cameras installed in each therapy room. Another benefit I found in choosing James Nichols and Valeo Rehab is the way James connects with my child. His style and method has opened up an avenue of socialization and learning that has increased my child’s speech therapy goals to a great success. Being a licensed professional counselor I’ve observed James’ approach as one that is not stringent or fixed but more flexible so that my child feels comfortable to go at a steady pace yet feel safe enough to be challenged when needed. James provides that healthy balance of work and play which makes for an exciting environment to learn in. My 3 year old looks forward to every session each week, and we know that when it comes time for us to leave we are certainly going to miss “Mr. James” and the whole crew at Valeo Rehab!

2 years agoGreat staff and great environment for the kids. 5 month update: My kids are doing great. Therapists are so loving, patient and so communicative. My kids have shown so much progress, they're in both speech and occupational therapy and it just keeps getting better and better. They've also go above and beyond to work with our schedule and find the best ways to work with them. I'm so glad our pediatrician referred us to Valeo Rehab.
